THE CHALLENGE

To create an industry leading traffic management system to revolutionise cities worldwide. To deliver a scalable real-time traffic management, information and control system, ranging from basic monitoring to strategic control of complex urban traffic environments. To create a complete solution for Strategic Traffic Management, Journey Time Monitoring, Variable Message Signs, Car Park and Incident management.

HOW WE DID IT

​

I was responsible for the product design of the system. I integrated design thinking methodologies into an existing waterfall approach working with engineering teams, product owners and BA's. The new design approach allowed us to build evidence based  designs and create better engagement with product stakeholders, customers and sponsors of the product.

I worked heavily with data scientists to understand the large amounts of data the platform had to consume and how we manage and display data to the users.

THE OUTCOME

​

We produced an industry leading solution which has been rolled out world-wide enabling cities to be smarter.  We improved the infrastructure of cities from their pollution reduction, traffic reduction to event management.
